Shawn Dick attended Georgetown University in Washington D.C. before returning to his home state of Texas. Shawn graduated with Honors from the University of Texas in Austin. He is a graduate of the University of Houston Law Center.
Shawn began his legal career in the Harris County District Attorney's Office as an Assistant District Attorney. For almost five years Shawn prosecuted criminal cases in dozens of courts handling everything from shoplifting cases to murder.
In December of 2001, Shawn and his wife moved to Williamson County where he was hired by the former District Attorney Ken Anderson. Shawn worked for nearly four years under current District Attorney John Bradley where he tried well over 25 jury trials involving several serious cases. Throughout his career he has handled over 10,000 criminal and juvenile cases and has tried over 75 jury trials.
Additionally, Shawn was certified in Criminal Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in December 2004. He was selected by the Texas Gang Investigator's Association as the Prosecutor of the Year in the State of Texas in July 2004. He has been recognized for his commitment by Super Lawyers as he has the rare distinction of being listed as a Super Lawyer Rising Star both as a criminal prosecutor (2005) and as a criminal defense lawyer (2008, 2009, & 2011).

Stephen B. Hesse, Jr. joined The Dick Law Firm after devoting the last 10 years to the exclusive practice of criminal law.
Steve spent 6 years as an Assistant District Attorney in the Williamson County District Attorney's Office. During this time Steve investigated and prosecuted the most serious crimes in Williamson County. Mr. Hesse is now able as a criminal defense attorney to use his extensive experience with the government to assist individuals in defending themselves from the State.
In 2006, Steve was recognized as "Prosecutor of the Year" by the Williamson County Children's Advocacy Center for his efforts in fighting crimes against children. Steve served for 4 years as an Assistant District Attorney in Harris County before moving to Williamson County. Steve has extensive jury trial experience in felony, misdemeanor and juvenile cases. Steve's last assignment in Harris County was as a prosecutor in the Child Abuse Division. This elite division is charged with prosecuting serious felony cases committed against children.
Steve Hesse earned board certification in Criminal Law in 2005 from the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Fewer than 2% of lawyers in Texas have earned Board Certification in Criminal Law. Steve has a wide variety of jury trial experience, which includes: Murder, Aggravated Robbery, Drug Offenses, Sex Crimes, Burglary, DWI and many others. Steve has extensive experience with white-collar criminal investigations, identity theft and other computer facilitated crimes.

Austin Reeve Jackson is a 2004 graduate of the Texas Tech School of Law. Mr. Jackson was an exceptional student of law who graduated in the top third of his class and was named the 2004 Advocate of the Year. Mr. Jackson¡¯s excellence in law and courtroom advocacy also earned him a coveted induction into the elite National Order of Barristers.
After graduation, Mr. Jackson practiced law in almost all legal arenas, obtaining an invaluable perspective and unique legal insights. Mr. Jackson also quickly earned a well-deserved reputation as an extremely ethical and talented attorney in both criminal and civil law.
Mr. Jackson worked in the District Attorney¡¯s Office of Gregg County, Texas as an appellate attorney, misdemeanor prosecutor and juvenile prosecutor. While there, he was an extremely successful trial attorney and quickly became the ¡°go-to¡± attorney for other prosecutors and local judges whenever they had a question regarding law or legal strategy.
In addition to his exceptional trial work, Mr. Jackson also became the chief appellate attorney due to his extensive knowledge of the law. In this capacity, Mr. Jackson represented the State of Texas in numerous appeals and habeas corpus petitions, including several successful appeals before the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals. While working as an Assistant District Attorney, Mr. Jackson gained an in-depth knowledge of prosecutorial tactics which he utilizes in developing successful defense strategies today.
Mr. Jackson handles both misdemeanor and felony criminal cases. These cases include, but are not limited to, Assaults, Class C Misdemeanors, DWIs, Murder, Possession of Controlled Substances, Possession of Dangerous Drugs, Possession of Marijuana, Sexual Assault, Indecency with a Child, and Theft.
In addition to his extensive criminal experience, Mr. Jackson was employed with prestigious civil firms where he successfully pursued all aspects of State and Federal civil litigation while engaging in a nationwide legal practice.
Mr. Jackson is also bilingual. He has studied both at the Spanish Language Institute in Cuernavaca, Mexico and at the International Law Institute in Guanajuato, Mexico. His studies at these Institutions included advanced legal Spanish courses as well as the Study of NAFTA and International Human Rights.
An avid student of the law, Mr. Jackson continues to devote a great deal of time to daily study of legal issues in order to consistently provide the most accurate and complete responses to the questions of clients.
